Meet Your Assessor
I'm an independent specialist dyslexia assessor with over 15 years' experience in education. After many years as a classroom teacher, English Lead and SEND practitioner, I specialised in dyslexia assessment and now work with children, young people and adults through my independent practice, WordWise Dyslexia Services.
I provide comprehensive diagnostic dyslexia assessments and examination access arrangement (EAA) assessments for schools, helping individuals understand their learning profile, identify their strengths and access the support they need to thrive.
I hold an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and AMBDA accreditation, recognised as the highest professional standards for specialist dyslexia assessors in the UK. I regularly undertake professional development to ensure my assessments reflect the latest SASC guidance, the 2025 Delphi definition of dyslexia and current JCQ regulations.
Alongside my independent practice, I work directly with primary and secondary schools.
In secondary schools, I carry out literacy profiling and JCQ-compliant examination access arrangement assessments, supporting SEND departments in gathering the evidence required for appropriate examination access arrangements.
In primary schools, I work with schools to identify pupils' learning strengths and needs through comprehensive assessment, enabling early identification and effective support.
My approach is warm, individualised and evidence-based. Every assessment is tailored to the individual and designed to provide clear answers, practical recommendations and confidence for the future. My reports include practical guidance for families, schools, colleges, universities and employers, helping to ensure recommendations can be implemented effectively.
Based in Ninfield, East Sussex, I provide face-to-face assessments across Sussex and Kent, online assessments throughout the UK where appropriate, and on-site assessment services for schools.
