Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are you qualified?
Yes - I am a fully qualified specialist teacher and assessor (AMBDA and APC accredited), with 15 years’ experience in teaching. I work as an Associate Assessor for the British Dyslexia Association and as an Associate Consultant Specialist teacher with the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity (HADC) - two of the UK's most trusted dyslexia organisations. I continue to offer assessments and support through my private practice, WordWise Dyslexia Services.

Does my child or young person need a dyslexia assessment?
If they struggle with reading, spelling, writing, or processing, an assessment can help identify whether dyslexia or another learning difference is present.

What happens during the assessment?
Your child will complete short, engaging tasks with plenty of breaks. My priority is to make the session calm and supportive.

When will I get the results?
Within 14 days you’ll receive a full report, tailored recommendations, and an optional feedback session.
